I just did a road trip up to the mountains, from about sea level to 6500ft. My truck was packed with my family of 5 and my bed was loaded with some weight. I did some 4 wheeling up in the mountains also before we left and I refilled. I got just over 20mpg on the trip up with some 4 wheeling, back down the mountain was better for sure, my fuel gauge has about a 1/8 tank more than going up.

Right now with a 2.5" lift and 265/70r16 BFG Rugged Terrains I'm at about 19mpg with probably 75% of my miles being highway (70mph tops).

About to put on LT285/75/r16 on this week in either Cooper ST Maxx or ATP. Trying to determine how bad this will destroy my mpgs.

3 tanks on my manual tranny 2015 so far and Im pretty happy. First 750 miles I've averaged 19.75 mpg. That's with the harder acceleration during brake-in and the tint shop letting it idle for quite a while with the heater on. Bone stock except an oil catch can on the pcv line.

Put the lift & tires on Monday. We'll see how that goes.

I'd guess you'd lose 1.5-2 mpg. I would have put 265/75/16's on there, that gives you another 1" of tire, almost a 32, and looks good on a tacoma with a 2.5" lift

I'm averaging 18.5 city/hwy but I drive my truck like a 44-year-old man who watches a show called Project Runway with his wife on a Thursday night....(no comments assholes!)

You put diesel fuel in a gas motor?

Topped mine off yesterday and am getting about 19.8 per gallon. Not to shabby, but i use 93 in it, put a couple tanks of 89 and got a slight ping and only averaged about 17 per tank, but could have just been where the truck was new and not broken in yet.

16.5 in town, 19.5-20 highway, piss poor IMO. My 06 was 17-21, not much better. A V8 Chevy is as good or better, but it's not a Toyota.

17.5 to 18.5 that is city driving, some of it is on the interstate.
I did take one long trip a few months back mileage didn't change much.

It's totally fine to do every other tank or so. You just have to make sure not to top off the tank with any ethanol-additive gasoline in between Diesel intervals because your Automatic Transmission Fluid might have some thermodynamic degeneration due to huge torque gains. This will obviously effect overall drive-ability but has no effect on Manual Transmissions.
