Hello, I was just wondering if anyone had this installed in their taco yet?

This seems to be the perfect one for me because I'm not a fan of the LCD responders (bulk and battery life) and this one seems simple while providing security and 2 way response.

I'm just wary of buying this after reading reviews that the transponders always get pressed accidentally and that the battery cover is very easy to break.

Any suggestions or reviews on this one?

    Thanks in advance!

I have the 5706 so can not do a direct comparison however my secondary responder is the same as what you're looking at with the 5806. First the LCD on mine is not any bulkier than the secondary if anything it lays flatter and is smaller overall. The battery is Li ION and I just charged it this week after a month of everyday use several times a day. It uses standard micro USB I used my phone charger and it didn't take long. My OEM Xterra key fob would press the panic button once a week until I modified it. The Tacoma OEM key fob is much better but twice that I know of it did lock\unlock the doors on my truck while in my pants pocket. The LCD never has. I could see how the 5806 could though. I had read that the 5706 is an upgrade over the 5704 remote which has some of the issues you mention and why I went with the 5706. I have no regrets it was a great choice IMO.

I have the 5701 (without LCD screen) and the remotes are completely remodeled from prior years. It's an all black version and modified the battery cover to fix the problem.
