Is It A Good Idea To Spray Paint My Chrome Grille Black? Or Just Buy A Black One?

Plasti dip sticks to chrome rather well. With no prep work.

If you're going to use any paint other than plasti dip, your best off sanding the chrome grill, priming, painting and then doing clear.

I know a classmate that did this to a chrome grille on his 1500. With road debris, rocks and the weather, it looks terrible. It is chipped and peeling.

Just rough up the chrome. I did 4 coats. First primer, then I used metallic with the speckles for a little texture and then satin. Clear coat for finish and a year later no problems. I've learned if you always wanted to go back you can find one on here or CL.

If you click the link I posted it's a whole guide. I got everything from Automotivetouchup.com. Their paint comes out perfect and their clear coat is smooth as can be. Here ya go- this is 100% rattle can
