Just installed mine today. It took about an hour and a half by myself, these things are heavy! They look good but I wasn't able to install all the bolts tightly, there is 1 on each side in the rear that wouldn't tighten down all the way. I'm going to take them up and try again tomorrow but if I can't get them fully tightened I'm not sure what I should do next.

Anybody with these already on have any ideas? Would a single bolt front and back be an issue?

I have these on my 2012 OR DCSB and they were a bit of a challenge installing them. You need two people installing them so the other person can hold and support the step up and shift it slightly while you're underneath to bolt them on. I started with the center bolt, working my way out to the back and front last. Doing it by yourself is probably not the best choice to get the best install. You should be able to tightly bolt them on. The single front bolt is a non issue. I called the folks about the single front bolt and they assured me it is safe. It was just designed for the older tacos if I recall their answer. I've had mine on for about 6months and have had no issues. I love these steps. Just keep a can of black spray for touch up incase they chip or slight rust occurs, no big deal, but they should last quite a long time. Hope you can get them bolted on better. PM if you have any questions.

Wow I actually like these. I think I'd prefer them with the lights though.

If they work on a 14 I'm assuming they will work on a 15 too?

Yes they should fit 2015 just fine too.
But I bought the light kit, and each kit only comes with two LED strips, meaning you have to buy 2 separate kits if you want all four steps lit up. When I received them I attempted to install them, only to realize once you install them, it's only held on by 3M tape. This is a purely non practical gimmicky accessory for the steps. These will be stepped on when you climb into the truck and be knocked off with your boots. It's a bad design in my opinion. But you don't have to take my word for it.:rimshot:

Like I had said in a previous post. They definitely suck mounted on the steps. Due to looks and durability. But I have had great success with them mounted under the steps. They light up white under the truck when I open my doors. Then I wired them to also light up white or amber when I hit the toggle switches. Great for hunting (getting geared up or if I drop something ). Also the old lady likes them so she can see if she's stepping into something she would rather not....LOL!!!

They make great steps, imho, and lots better in appearance than tube/chrome jobbies, at least...again, imho.

They come with two (slightly) different length bolts and no direction as to which goes on the step braces and which go in the body. There is some guidance and discussion in this threat (edit, I meant "thread", lol) on that matter.

    Enjoy!

I wonder how well they work against door dings considering the open space between the front and rear doors.

I've looked at a shitload ot Tacoma Porn and have never seen these offered (or installed) for the access cab. Very sorry my fried. Do not order these without contacting Body armor to see if that is indeed the case.

Never do a full tighten on any bolt while the others are loose. Go 25% on all the first time, 75% the second and then a third. Mine all fit correct. Andnever force it. You don't want to crossthread or else your holes might be shot.

Is this a bad idea? I love the look and the price. But I'm not even in the market for steps. At least I wasn't 5 minutes ago

No. At least I wouldn't use them as such. They aren't bolted to the frame.

They make great low profile steps, and cover up the ugly underside.

I like them, and the price is right.

They are mislabeled if you still find them labeled as real rock sliders. Just not for that application.
