I used the search wizard machine and recieved no results...Please no flaming.

I have a 2009 Double cab and I really like the look of the 2012. My goal is to do a facelift to the 2012+. Please note this is the start of a process. I would like to document the proces for the whole forum to benifit.

    End Goal -
    - want retrofit HID's -
    - Plate front bumper - elite or Pelfrybuilt
    - satoshi grill

I figured since I am replacing all of that anyways I might as well get a 2012 face lift.

I understand the 2009 fenders work with the swap. that is as far as i have come, does anyone know what is needed to complete the swap?

    all parts from a 2012+
    - headlights
    - plastic under headlights
    - Front grill - Probably a homer taco grill
    - 2012+ plate from bumper

My question do I need a new hood if i do this swap? if so that may kill the project.

yeah, i agree the money is high. However It looks like I would only need the follwoing
    - hood
    -headlights
    - radiator shrowd
    - grill

Since I am going Plate front bumper the other stuff will get removed.

I also have some salvage in my stock parts.

IIRC the fenders are different as well. I may be crazy though.

    3 grand? Eff that!

Start parking in a retirement home parking lot. Maybe a Q-tip will confuse their gas pedal for the brake and take out your front end. Then you can get your parts without paying $3000 bucks for cosmetic items.

the fenders are the same, to the other poster (PCYC) about just swapping a few parts, its 'doable' i guess but you will need to mod some brackets etc, but bare min would be grille, headlight assemblies bumper cover, fod lights, hood, grille badge, lower bumper cover inset piece, if you have sport then hood scoop, hood scoop insert, hood scoop gaskets and some clips and grommets, if you have a sport, then paint grille, bumper cover, lower bumper cover piece, bumper fillers under headlight assemblies, fog light inserts, bumper extensions, hood, etc...

    hope that helps :)

i'm almost done with mine, we repaired the dents in the hood i had to get since could not find a new one, so mainly just paint left :)

    cheers,
    disco

You're not crazy. Those other mods you plan would still cost you if you don't change to the '12-'13 front end. I only see these added cost to consider:
    - new hood (you can probably sell your old one though)
    - not sure, but maybe a new way to support the bottom part of the grill (I would probably find a way to modify your existing part for that.

Not 100% sure on this one but, with the new bumper, you shouldn't need the little plastic parts under the headlights.

If you do it, please post pictures.
