Wow- so the newer kits to buy and do yourself bolts through the bowl like this now? One thing that I always worried about was cutting that hole and gluing that thing in.

    Thanks for posting that!

Those are the "easier kits" but honestly my FXR install was just as easy as a mini install, especially since you have to cut the mounting washer anyway to get it to line up correctly.

Check out my guide in my sig, it's so straight forward it gave a lot more people the confidence to do it

yup the Morimoto D2S and Mini h1 requires very minimal work like the alignment of the cutoff. the hardest part is baking/opening the headlight.

the FX-r will involve cutting the housing and epoxy to put them in place.

I'm now thinking about ordering a mini kit, but I'm wondering if it would look funny in our large housings?

*edit* Searched for pictures and it looks fine to me.

This is a mini installed, the only advice I have to give is make sure your cutoff lines are level before you seal them up.

yup heres my mini h1 first ever retrofit. the shroud will make up for the size . just a heads up though, TRS is a good company but I would wait til they sort out their ballasts issue before ordering unless youre willing to pay more and order the OEM Denso ballasts. I have them and no issues whatsoever

They already put a hold on orders because of the ballast issue. Go read through there group buy thread it's already being addressed.

And here's my FXR that took no more work than installing a Mini

I've installed both and neither is more difficult than the other. Honestly the FXR was easier to line up than the Minis were

don't really pay attention to the TRS group buy sale/shipping/availability
since I already got my retrofits and my Denso ballasts :kona:

just giving a heads up to future retrofitters so they don't run into the same problem of not being able to drive their trucks for weeks coz their ballasts wont fire

They look good. Thanks. I'll go ahead and pull the trigger on a mini H1 kit with the better ballasts.

Couldn't find anything so I'll ask here. What's the best way to line up the minis? I'm assuming they're pretty snug mounted up even before sealing?

Thank you so much for the description of the different K temps from 4500 k - 12000 k. I am interested in doing this to my Tacoma at some point in time. This is a great forum.
