Hey guys. I know this has been covered but for older tacos. I don't know if the TSB applies for newer tacos, like my 2013. On the highway is when I notice it the most. I can hold the wheel straight and it will seriously drift around the lane and feel very sloppy. I haven't got a chance to check the torque on the leaf spring u-bolts, would that even make a difference? Last time I checked my tires are at 32psi. ??

What are your alignment numbers? Any front suspension modifications?

Sounds like you might need more caster...

AFAIK u northern folk got the 4 leaf pack waaaay before the US did, so u should take a quick look under there.

Id wonder about the alignment as posted above, and the tires (look for blisters or other signs of belt issues)

There are 4 leafs total, one is just tiny but I'm sure it counts as the 4th. No mods, stock Dunlops. I haven't got it aligned, maybe that's the issue? Would the leafs have anything to do with this?

Since you are in Alberia, is this on snow covered road? Ditch the dunlops ASAP unless you are wanting to run them for month of summer.:D

Not neccesarily snow covered, slick sometimes, but I swear I've noticed it on dryer pavement too. I was wanting to wear them down and get new wheels and rubber but...

I never experienced this on my 2013 from factory. Sounds more like a bad alignment.

Have you upgraded the tires at all? A lot of beefy all terrain tires (really any wide tire) will follow grooves in the road and make it drive like that.

When I picked my 2013 up it had a bad rear alignment. The rear was 1 inch out from the front and I had to return it. They fixed it and no more problems.

if temperature swings ALOT daily, check tire pressure, i'm in Louisiana, temp flucuates as much as 30 degs in a day and i always have to check and fill or release. but when it is out of wack it does feel kinda slopp sometimes. i especially notice it when i am in a turn on the road when the back tire pressure is low, below 30 psi. but i would do like the other guys mentioned, get a 4 wheel alignment (make sure 4 wheel), just a side note if you ever plan on lifting it or adding level kit itsworth just payingthe shop extra to get the lifetime alignment service :)

    hope that helps

    cheers,
    disco

Guys, no need to fight. I have the stock Dunlop tires, and have never had an alignment done but maybe I need one done. Thanks.

And I will reconfirm tire pressure. I kind of want to do the chalk test to get optimal pressure for my specific truck.

How are the roads up there? If they are fairly worn and full of grooves, that could be the issue. Just a different vehicle than what you are used to, handling the roads differently.

The roads can be quite terrible at times. I will take a good look over my tires tonight. They only have 30,000km which is about 19,000 miles. I haven't rotated them yet either. I was hoping to wear them down before getting some nice 265s but if it handles like this, no thanks. Does anyone think the leafs have anything to do with this? Or possible loose u-bolts? I do have 4 leafs, but are those the same as the ones they would install for a TSB?

An alignment check is certainly a good idea, along with a good check of all suspension and steering components.

Are you new to trucks? Crosswinds throw them around a lot more too.

You likely have the best leafs they offer since you have a 2013. I don't think they'd even apply a TSB to them. What is your previous vehicle? Is this your first truck?

    I was thinking that too.

.. or considerable weight in the very back of the bed or low/uneven tire pressure.

Mark, is it your steering wheel that seems sloppy or does it feel like the tires are super soft?
