I just called my dealership to schedule my 5000 mile service and I asked what would be done. They told my that my oil doesn't get changed until 10000 because its 0w-20 synthetic. My service manual says 5000. What do you guys think? Is this normal?

I say 5000 on the safe side.

5K, especially on a brand new vehicle. If they won't do it, I would do it myself.
Let them know you are following Toyota's recommendations and they should too.

Toyota recommends 10K mile OCI on cars with synthetic. But for trucks it's still 5K. My '13 2.7 calls for 0w-20 synthetic @ 5K...per the manual. My guess is that Toyota is just playing it safe and calling for the shorter interval in the event that the truck is used under severe duty...as trucks sometimes are.

Your manual is correct, the dealer is wrong. The dealer is just trying to avoid the cost of using synthetic oil at 5000 miles.

true we also do 10k 0w-20, Toyota Care they call it. only 5k when its 5w20 or 5w30. people come in within +- of that 10k miles but just people who are under the Toyota Care program. You can do your oil change at any mileage but just make sure you have your receipt ready incase something happens.
