My 2011 4X4 4cylinder, automatic, regular cab Tacoma came with an aftermarket cruise control. After two plus years it is acting intermittent. Sometimes it will turn on and operate correctly. There does not seem to be a pattern to when it does not turn on.

If the dash light turns on, usually the system works fine. But, if I pause the system while driving through a town it does not always reset back on. Other times, the dash light will not turn on and of course nothing works then.

My thoughts are the stalk switch. Anyone have other suggestions?

^ Im with you. Sounds exactly like what mine does. I tried using different gears and rpm's to see if it was a speed or rpm problem. But it seems totally random.

I was thinking its a ground wire connection problem? Also my fog lights do not come on, and the button does not light up. but the fuse is good. so again, wiring connection?

    I just purchased an 05 v6 double cab 4x4 6 speed manual 74k miles.

Double check that your brake lights are still functioning. I had a Tahoe a few years ago that acted this way and it ended up being the taillights being burnt out. Some safety feature, I guess.

Also, I too thought it was the stalk switch at first until I stumbled upon someone suggesting the brake lights.
