    Hey guys,

    First time posting!

Is it a cloudiness in the top coat? If so, I used to see this all the time when I worked at Toyota. I think it's caused by the plastic protection being applied too soon to the paint. Anyway, passing by with a heat gun or letting sitting with the heaters on in a paint booth seems to also do the trick.

Just clay it and if it doesn't go away its the base coat and will probably be a repaint.

^ We get something like that at work. Sometimes the painters will slime the car and then put the paper over the car before it is dry. Once they bake the car in the booth it gets weird patterns that have to be wet sanded off I'll definitely try the heat gun next time though. It's kinda hard to see the from the pictures but it doesn't really look like that.

I have that same truck and have noticed that the plastic lower fender around the wheel well paint quality is noticeably worse than the the rest of the metal body. Don't have this issue on my Infiniti g37 and it has a ton of plastic. Wondering if I should take it back for a block or wet sand? Would this help or do I have any options?

OP, how about an update? We're curious to see how it worked out.

I have this on my 2016. I'm trying to get Toyota to replace my truck. This sucks. The clear coat is unreasonably thin also... And bumpers look like crap

Reviving this ancient thread - But does anyone with a 3rd gen have this issue? I believe my 2020 also has this tiger-striping effect on the driver-side fender.
