I lost my keys to the gas cap, and the other locking stuff on the truck including the reciever hitch, spare tire, etc.

But, I have the spare ignition key.

But, I need to go to work and the tank's low, I need to get gas SOON.

What can I do fellers to get into the tank?

call a lock smith..or punch a hole in it with a screwdriver and unlock it ,,then just buy a new cap

Try a different key in the gas cap, they use really cheap locks and when I had one on my old truck several unrelated keys worked to unlock it.

Try a large pair of channel lock pliers and squeeze real tight while turning. It will either bust or turn off.

I dont think I would drill it out. Lets say you do and you drill a little to far and you end up punching through the cap thus getting shreds of plastic and metal down in your tank. I dont think I would go at it w/channel locks...just does not sound like a good thing to do...Try other keys, being that these locks are kind of cheap, or get a lock smith, Good luck,

Channel locks do not work. It turns in either direction, either tighter till it clicks or just spins.

But a screw driver in the key hole and a left AND right twist allowed me to unscrew it easily.

    FYI
