    Hi all,
Just picked up my 2014 Magnetic Gray Metallic Tacoma and am seriously considering Plasti Dip for the rims. I've seen pictures some of you have posted, and like what I see. I am wondering if I should go Smoke, Gunmetal, or Black. What are your thoughts? Thanks.

Go with the gunmetal. Will look good with your paint color.

U should have some contrast. So I say black. Also black out your badges.

Black. Can't ever go wrong with black on these trucks.

Or just try each out on one wheel and see how you like it.

Yeah, that's why I'm not worried about how it looks the first time. It can easily be changed. I've seen pictures of the plasti dip badges. That looks pretty cool !!

Also, my wife has pretty rusted winter rims on her Honda Civic. Would these have to be cleaned to the bare steel before done with Plasti Dip?

The key to dipping is to ensure an even spray. Don't have the nozzle too far from what you are spraying, it will create a dust/mist like cover that will prevent the coats to be one continuos bond. Other than that it will stick to anything.

I am in the same boat, and thinking about going with the anthracite grey plasti dip..i just dont know if it will be too close of a match and clash, or if I should just go black...I did black on my Avalanche which has a chamelion type paint job and the black was pretty dull, like a flat black, no shine at all. But it looked better then stock...don't expect a shine with the black plastidip.

There'e a glossifier spray that plastidip sells to spray over the plastidip and give it a gloss finish. http://www.plastidip.com/home_solutions/Plasti_Dip_Enhancers

I don't know if I would like a flat finish or a gloss more. I'd have to see more pictures I think.

you can always do it just black first and leave it for a few weeks, then if you dont like it, add glossifier.
