Changing Rear Differential oil on 2010 dbl cab with towpackg. do I need LSD additive?

    ok I have been reading a lot and need to change the rear differential oil this weekend.
    I would appreciate if anyone can help me here:
    q1. I have a 2010 double cab tacoma with a tow package. would I need the LSD additive.

    I have also posted this question on the tacome garage section.

    To further clarify:

    2009 and newer trucks DO NOT HAVE the mechanical LSD.

    2009+ have an AUTO LSD which uses the brakes (and has nothing to do with the differential).

    If you buy oil that already has the friction modifier in it - YOU CAN USE IT in your 2009 or newer differential.
