Hondas are very well built vehicles. I've had quite a few Hondas and Acuras. My wife currently has an Acura TSX and it gets a nice 33 mpgs.

I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
I've got a 2013 Honda Accord Sport. CVT. Damn good car, and the only reason I'm thinking about getting rid of it for a Tacoma is because the lady friend wants it.

You'll love all the refinement that comes standard with the Accord: power drivers seat, external temp reading, auto down AND up drivers windows, latest generation of Honda's bulletproof K24 engine, so on and so forth.

I've got 18.5k miles on mine and I've had it since last April.

    Do dents and scratches count?
Had an 03 accord I4 five speed before my Tacoma. I bought it used and only drove it for a year. But, I put 25K miles on in that year and loved the car. It had 130K on when I gave it to my dad last year. We also own a 09 Honda Odyssey which has 80K miles on and has been flawless. Filters, fluids and tires. No problems whatsoever. I think they make a great product. Good luck with the car.

How much does buying a car actually save? I think that many times the additional cost in payments cancels the fuel savings each year.

I put 20k on my tacoma each year. That costs me $3600 in gas, an Accord would cost $2000 a year.

I think the trip computer is being too optimistic, esp when the car's EPA rating is only 34 mpg. What average mpg do you get when you calculate it manually (miles driven between fillups)?

Yes I was ekeptic too, but when I got to 300 miles I filled up and divided by the gallons used and it came out spot on.

I have to clarify that 40 mpg was going @ 60 mph on a flat highway, in combined driving maybe 60/40 driving the car does a still respectable 30-31 mpg.

I've gotten a hand calculated 40mpg in my Accord going 75-78 mph from DFW to BCS; it was with a solid 20-30mph tailwind the entire way. Trip computer read 38mpg that trip.

    It happens.

So you filled up, zeroed the trip odometer, drove 300 miles, and filled up again? For stock tire sizes/gearing, this method iis sufficiently accurate.

I see. 60 mph cruise control in top gear on a flat highway is "more perfect" than EPA's test conditions for highway milage.
