so I was at walmart the other day to get some mobile 1 5w-30
I normally use the Advanced full synthetic formula.

but I also saw that they had a Mobile 1 Extended Performance which was guaranteed for use for 15000 miles. Anyone uses this? I would assume that you'd need to change for oil filter atleast a couple of times if you using this oil

and then there was a mobile 1 Advance Fuel Economy full synthetic. has any one used this? does this really help with the mileage

    I use Mobile 1 Extended Performance 0 w 20.
I change it out at about 16,000.
I do not change the filter during this interval.
    I am at 210,000 miles.

By not changing the filter, you are effectively tainting the new oil as soon as you fire up the motor.

All those fancy tag lines are simply to get more people to buy the product. Get what you usually get, I go Mobile 1 full syn, oem filter, and change both every 10k.

clarification- I do not change the oil filter during the 16k interval.
I use the top end mobile1 filter

I use this in 5w-30 in my wifes dodge ram 4.7L We use it with the K&n oil filter that is rated to 12k miles. (just switched to the mobil1 ext perform oil filter that i think is the same filter as k&n but different color)

I change the oil and filter every 9-10k miles.

I used to be skeptical about doing this, but she would drive the truck and never change the oil or tell me to do it anyway, so i basically cahnge it with this about once a year.

the truck has 120k miles on 12 oil changes !!! with absolutely zero engine problems (it has front end suspension problems...)

I know its hard to believe.

I just put it in my 4.0, so im not sure how long I want to go before I change it in the taco ???

regular oil changes are cheap insurance

if 1 waits till 32,000 miles to change the oil filter, would they risk the filter being clogged up and opening the bypass valve for lets say the last 22,000 miles and basically having NO filter?
If so, would they even know its been bypassed at any time?

I change mine every 5-6K with mobile 1 5w30 and a toyota filter.......... excessive, maybe but again its cheap insurance and my truck is driven like its been built to be driven.

Another thing to consider is the interval of dirt roads/off roading and dust conditions, no air filter will filter 100% of the air ingested, with this said a certain amount of the dirt that is ingested is trapped by oil in the cylinders, if your in the dirt/dust don't extend your oil intervals.

mobile 1 reg syn 5-30 and a trd filter, 5-7k depending on oil condition and off road driving I do, and yes the trd filter has a good filter content and filtration and fair price

My manual on the 4-Cyl requires 0w20, and that is only available in the Mobil-1 AFE.

I used it on a 5k trip out West, and sent in the oil to Blackstone Labs for a UOA. It came back very nice with low wear metals.

Unless you're going on an extended trip involving high miles, not sure I see the benefit of the EP. You won't find 0w20 in EP anyway, if your manual calls for it. You could use a high-end filter like Mobil1 for a 15k OCI. There website says that the filter will do it. But again, not sure what the benefit of doing so is.

A lot of folks on BITOG swear by the TGMO 0w20. I may revert back to it, depending on how the 2nd UOA on Mobil1 AFE turns out.

Have you ever had an oil analysis done? I am curious as to how the oil is holding up after that mileage.
