There's honestly no comparison. The Pelfreybilt's are pure beef versus the thin, flimsy All Pro offerings.

Ya I did the same thing as well and they seem to be the same except the price. The pelfreybilt looks like it might give a little more coverage but hard to tell.

    It is.

All Pro had some issues with the quality of their skids. 3/16" or not, they were of inferior quality and offered little protection. It is said that they have since fixed these issues and their newest issues re far better.

Bud Built and Pelfreybilt make solid products.

I had Buds on my first gen. They were great. I have also heard nothing but good things about the Pelfreybilts.

Pelfreybilt. Never bought their stuff but I hear great things about them. I hear all pro has decent stuff but their construction is not as good especially if you use it for protection, not just for looks.

Can't really comment on the AllPro or the Bud built, but I can comment on the Pelfreybilt because I wheel with Tyler & have personally seen him Deliberately slam his skids & armor on rocks to see what if any damage occurs, & haven't seen any of his products fail, just the usual rock rash you'd expect to see (some scratches/loss of paint) but all welds/hardware have been trouble free

I bought the AllPro skid plate way back when. It's taken a fuck-ton of beetings and is still begging for more. Tyler's are the same way- There's no killing it.

Either one you choose, you're not going wrong.

I'd say go with the Perlfreybuilt one though. He's a standup guy and his work is 100% the best across ALL of his products out there.

i changed skids because i liked the way the pelfreybilt ifs skid is wider up front and the tranny skid has more coverage. also the ap tranny skid is mounted up higher. again i had no issue with the ap skids.imho go pelfreybilt

    Lots of stuff
Hey there, that is a good question considering they are indeed pretty similar. Pelfrey's is a little wider up front then has more of an angle down going into it's tranny skid. AP's isn't as wide because the sides are flared (or angled) up all the way back to help prevent debris from getting up in there. AP's also does not angle down at all and is flat all the way to the tranny skid. They are both 3/16" steel so neither is flimsier than the other. Hope that clears it up a little bit for you. Good luck with your buy. If you decide to go with AP shoot me an email and I can hook you up with a better price.
    :yay:
