Hey guys I am trying to buy a red top 34/78 battery but am unsure if the stock cables will reach the battery? Can anyone elaborate on this? Thanks for your help!

Alot of money for a company that has gone south since they moved their factory.

Red Tops have gotta poor reviews in the last couple of years. I had a bad red top myself.

    Yellows get better reviews.

Do you need a dry cell, alot of offroading? Says that you are stock and a 2012?? Stock battery died already?

Yeah. I am running 4 led bars and a system. The stock battery just isn't cutting it. I don't off road much yet. I am open to different batteries as long as they have side posts for audio.

Could pony up for the oddyssey brand much better reputation.

If you have a system you need a yellow and not a red top. Red is not going to help you any.

There are plenty of top mount post terminal adapters as well for additional tap points.

For sure get a yellow top with side posts for audio. It might be a good idea to upgrade the alternator depending on how big your system is. If I remember right, the positive cable reaches but the ground is a little short. Either way, it's easy to swap in longer (and heavier gauge) cables relatively cheap.

I'm running a red top in my 06. Stock battery tray and cables.

Positive cable is a little tight but it does fit. Been using it for about 3 years.

Now I have a winch and light bar so when it dies I will probably get a bigger battery. But so far so good.

I am going to go with the yellow top. Does anyone know for sure if the battery cables will fit? I have heard they will and I have also heard they wont.

OEM charging systems and batteries are not designed for large aftermarket electrical loads. Depending on your driving habits, a high output alternator upgrade should be your first consideration. If your electrical load exceeds the output of the charging system at idle, then increasing the battery capacity will help, especially if it is a dual battery setup with the aftermarketing load on a deep cycle battery.

Please see Section 5 in the Car and Deep Cycle Battery FAQ on www.batteryfaq.org for more information.

I have a yellow top in my 2010 and the cables reach just fine. I've had it for over a year with 3 sets of lights. No issues. Starts in single digit temps just fine still.
