    Nice write, thanks
Do you know if you use a 2" rear block are you required to use a diff drop?

I'm not sure on whether you'll get vibes or not, but you should consider an add-a-leaf instead of a block. Blocks will wear out your leafs faster and they create more axle wrap

Truck looks awesome. I was wondering did you get any vibration after installing this kit ?

I did feel like I felt a very little vibration under my pedals at first but I no longer feel it. I thought it was because the rear is 1/4" lower because of the use of the top plate spacers but apparently everything has settled and I have zero vibration now. I ordered a wheelers 2" AAL last night so the rear should sit 1/4 to 1/2 inch higher after I swap out the block for the AAL, I'll report back and put up a new picture when I get them swapped out

Why do folks use an AAL?
Why not replace the stock springs with a better after market product?
Other than the cost, which a couple hours of OT should do it.

Well I'm replacing the 1.25" block with a 2" AAL because I only need a little more lift in the rear, it's only costing $100 shipped instead of $400 plus bushings U bolts and shipping, I don't off road so I'm not worried about flex and what not, and mostly I'm a simple police K-9 officer that works for a department with 42 certified officers so unlike the guys with the high paying jobs I can't afford to just buy anything and everything that all the cool kids have. Don't get me wrong I originally wanted the Toytec ULK with a new leaf packet and UCA's but it was going to cost $2k to have the setup I wanted so I found the Rancho lift as installed for under $1k and when I receive and install the AAL I will have $1,075 in a full 3" lift. Some of us are ok with having what we can afford instead of what everybody else tells us we should have.
Hope I didn't sound like a prick, just answering the question honestly

researching 3" suspension lift combos (confused)

I have all stock on my 2011 4x4 sport DB. This thread has proved very insightful (thanks all). The majority of my driving thus far has been city miles with the various bumps and potholes that make up Nola streets. I've been to the http://www.gorancho.com/shocks.php?shock=RS9000XL website and would like some help/discussion on interpreting the "tuning technology." For myself, I'm currently focused on a smooth ride capable of handling bumps without feeling the harshness in the bumps (current stock suspension can be improved).

    Any thoughts? Thanks guys

My shocks have been set on 5 the entire time I have had my lift on and I personally think the ride is as good or maybe slightly better then the stock ride. I would say if you are looking for a softer then stock ride then the 3 setting would definitely give you that, I am totally happy with the Rancho setup I have. Hope this helps

i've been running the Rancho's up front since last Sept, still happy with my decision. setting 2 provides a nice smooth ride for daily use.

    Sub'd... thanks for the info!

I was looking at Bilstein 5100's for the front, but I like this idea better since I can do the install myself safely.

I have already installed Air Lifts in the rear for towing purposes (equipment float & compact tractor = 6000 lbs, or a tandem dump trailer full of fire wood), so the truck rides high in the back and nose dives in the front.

I run Cooper Discoverer A/T 3's (265-70-17) and they rub the small front fender mud flaps in a reverse turn.

    My questions would be:

Since I already have Air Bags and a Canadian issue TRD 4-leaf rear and Air Lift kit, would I need to install the blocks?

Do I need a front end alignment after install, since Rancho claims the kit doesn't change the alignment?

    Thanks for advice in advance!

You will still need to get it aligned. Do they say it doesn't change the alignment, or that it can still be aligned to factory specs?

Here's what I read in an add on eBay:

    Primary Suspension System w/Shock; RS9000XL Series Shocks; 2.5 in. Lift; Incl. Upr ControlArms/Ball Joints; RrBlks/U-Blts; Maintains OE Alignment; Won't Affect Electronic Stab Cntrl Sys;

I agree that common sense and geometry would indicate an alignment may be in order. Perhaps the ad is somewhat enthusiastic in its wording. I just re-read the OP and he said the alignment guy had 0 issues re-aligning the truck after install. (Oops!)

I would still like to know if the rear blocks would be compatible or even necessary with the Air Lift kit that I have already installed. ????

What air lift do you have? Do you mean air bags or air lift?

Very true....I've had Rancho suspensions in both my Toyotas back in the Eighties...never a problem with them, trucks always sat true and level.

The only problems I had with Rancho suspensions were their shocks. The paint would usually peel off of them within 6 or 7 months, and that is the only complaint I had.

taczilla... yes, you will need to get an alignment after install. to retain a little rake, you will need about 3" lift in the rear.

still happy with my Rancho QuickLIFT setup but to echo SabMotocross... the paint durability has been my only complaint with any Rancho product i've owned as well.
