The instructions for the gasaver indicates that it is a vacuum line. The liquid inside the bottle is a solution containing platinum. Google it.

I would remove it and the MAF box.

Don't just cut the wires, remove the plug and all

IIRC, that box pretty much just adds resistance to the signal wire to make it seem like the intake air is colder. Cutting the wires would eliminate this connection and probably throw a CEL.

As for the fuel saver, those have to be vacuum lines. The fuel pressures from our pumps would rupture standard vacuum lines (which those look like) and cause that plastic tank to explode.

maybe it is a vacuum line, but it seems to me that I traced it back to the fuel filter, so i assumed it was a fuel line.

Just get a straight piece from the auto parts store.

From the article I linked you...

"The Platinum Gas Saver ($248 for two, free shipping) includes tubing and a plastic reservoir containing liquid. The National Fuelsaver Corporation claims the device is guaranteed to increase fuel mileage by 22 percent, in addition to extending engine life by cleaning out abrasive carbon deposits. It connects to a vacuum line leading to the intake manifold. The manufacturer says that the product adds microscopic amounts of platinum to the air and fuel going to the engine, helping your car burn gas more efficiently and cleanly."

ah never mind, i found out. that image comes up if you search tacoma fuel filter. I told ya I dont know a lot about engines. But given that thought it was a fuel filter, and that this thing is a gasaver, you can see why I thought it was a fuel line. I just want to know the best way to get rid of these things.

as for the maf box, looks to be wired straight to the harness going to the mass air sensors, so do i need to take it apart and take the wires out? What do you mean by "throw a CEL"?

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
That is a 4" opposed helical 3/8th 1/2 twist reversal muffler bearing insert to increase velocity to the blinker fluid reservoir.

A CEL is a "Check Engine Light". Our MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensors are actually a two wire system. One wire heats up then is cooled down by the passing air, telling the computer how much air is flowing through. The other wire simply measures the temperature of the incoming air. If you lose one or both of these signals, the computer will not be able to properly adjust fuel injector pulse and might not even run at all. Take a close up picture of the wiring where the "box" wires connect to the MAF, preferably after removing the engine cover to give the best possible view.
