Radiator fan delayed start

It's cold outside, at least by local standards. Yesterday we were down at about -20*C, lower with wind chill. For the second time in our recent isolated cold spells, I have started the truck and it takes a second or three for the radiator fan to start up. Normally I hear it start up right away.

Is something wrong, or is the cold weather just requiring a bit more engine run time before the fan clutch can engage?

Mine does the same thing. I think it may be due to the fact that when it's that cold, the engine takes 2 or 3 seconds for the revs to build enough for the fan to turn fast enough to make noise.
