I won't say it's as bad/loaded as some of the pictures posted, but I was pretty impressed with mine. I loaded it up with all my stuff when I left Maine and moved to Texas - all my clothes, recliner, mountain bike, computer, etc., etc., etc.

There was only room in there for me.

I deleted the pics but I had 1800 lbs of railroad ties in the bed once, I did 1500 of concrete too. I have towed a 2200 18ft car/scrap trailer with 3500 pounds of tree limbs/stumps. These trucks can do a lot.

Not really easy to tell.. but I filled the bed of my truck with bricks..it was a little bit heavy.. I think this is how I damaged the axle seal..not smart.

Didn't take a picture, but 84 2x4x8's in the bed. Extremely close to the bump stops, and only touched them down once on a speed bump in the parking lot where I bought them.

You bring it here before asking which is a better truck, the Tacoma or the Frontier and then leave it for everyone to beat the shit out of.

This is most of a theatre set I moved between two performances. Interstate speeds were achieved.

Why do you say that possibly damaged your axle seal? Excuse my stupidity but how would excessive weight in the bed cause the axle seal to fail?

Well, at half load of bricks the truck was on the bump stops. At full load it was hard on the stops. I drove 15 miles at 30mph, and did hit a pretty bad bump in the road.

I don't know for sure that it damaged the axle seal, but that following winter is when the seal began leaking. The leaking oil/grease would freeze the drum brake in that wheel. A couple times I had to rock the truck forward and rear to get it loose.

Aside from all the landscaping stuff (rock, gravel, soil, etc.) I've had in the bed, I have had some awkward loads....
