Had Toyota of San Diego (Kearny Mesa) install the TRD SC on my '13 DCSB V6
Took them ~9 hours over 1.5 days. The work looks clean as they have done 8 other Taco SC installs (well I guess 9 now)
I only got to drive it ~10 miles or so as I had to go into work.
    First impressions:
1st gear seems no different (its as short as it was NA). 2nd gear you can feel and hear the SC kick in if you hold the revs long enough. I started getting that shit eating grin on my face. For the rest of my surface street drive there wasn't that much difference unless you wanted it. On the freeway in 6th if you want extra some extra giddy up it just put your foot down. You can totally feel the difference. I wasn't expecting so much more passing power on the freeway @ 65+ mph. I thought all the power would be down low.
The original service manager I was working with was off today. So I didn't get to talk to him. My truck has 10K original miles, any advice on break in on this thing?

How much did you pay? I would be interested to see the effect on your mileage. I used to have a Lexus IS350 and when I put an exhaust that supposedly added 11whp, my mileage went down. Mostly it was me on the gas pedal to make the car roar...

SC was $3890 from TRD Parts for U (no shipping and no tax, even in CA!)
Install was quoted $1k, however I talked to another member on this board whom had it done for $800 1.5 years ago at the same dealer. I told the service rep I came here because of that, so he changed his bid to $900. In the end it came out to be $944. The labor was $900 and there was some misc parts they needed which were not part of the kit. Namely, an O ring ($5) and Super Long Life coolant ($35). Once again, the service rep whom I was working with was not there to give greater details.
I did call other dealers in the SD area, the price range was retarded, 1400 from Poway & 1700 from Escondido! So 1k seemed to be the best deal I could find. I was also given a rental car @ no charge, so that was kind of nice (even though I'm sure I paid for it).
    Here is a pic:

I have seen other SC installs, I thought you received a CAI with the kit. Was surprised to see the stock air box.

Congrats on the very nice upgrade. Break in: just drive normal for about 500 miles, no extended lead foot. If you have 10,000 miles the cylinder bores/rings should be set in now, just be relatively easy most of the time on the right foot for a tank of gas or two.

To be honest, I've broken in motors before like they they were meant to be run hard and never had a bother. I've heard both rules of though, easy peasy til the build grease is gone and run em hard to set them. Just wouldn't abuse anything yet.

s/c kit doesn't come with CAI... but now your air filter is a TRD high flow filter, not a stock air filter. I can't remember if you need to oil that one or not. I installed a TRD CAI and that filter needs to be oiled.

I called around a lot of dealerships too when installing my s/c and the prices ranged so much... from almost 2k down to what I paid, $600 out the door. The rep forgot about the extra coolant needed and gave it to me for free since he messed up and forgot until the install was already done. This was at Cabe Toyota in Long Beach. I dropped it off first thing in the morning and it was done by end of day. They had two techs handling the install all day. I was impressed

Pretty sure no intake is recommended with the super charger. I work for a Toyota dealer and one of the employees did the same, new taco then added super charger. In the directions it had I think a warning saying to leave the stock air box and to not add a cai. We honestly don't see them often for an install.

There is no such warning in the install, I know this cause I installed both on my 05' and one on my 11'...OP if you want a little more HP get a intake preferably a 1st gen TRD intake or any intake of that style. Enjoy the SC i did when I had mine :)

I'm running AFE cold Air intake in with S/C. My dealer had no issues with it. Only thing they said was "it's Ok as long as I don't get any codes." Such as Air Fuel ration. I also run a scan gauge to monitor my ratio. It stays right where it is supposed to, right at the same ratio as when I did not have the CAI on. I did notice a slight power increase and slight mpg increase with CAI.

Ok I read the entire install and it didn't say anything about no aftermarket cai so my bad, what I think happened was there was no cai available for 13s yet when it was done to my coworkers!
