OK folks, a lot of nice trucks here, with fancy this, fancy that on.
    Tasty.

But what about you (and I), the packrats, edge-of-the-world tinkerers, real-world misfits, what kind of junk or weird homemade storage or fixtures do you have in your bed?

Others with lame homemade storage can contribute as well. This is a large family, we all love each other (do we?).

I don't usually keep anything in my the bed of my truck except for a few rogue bungee cords and a couple rags stuffed in the bedside pockets. If I am traveling maybe but not on a day to day basis. I park on a college campus and have had items disappear before so I don't take chances. I keep tons of stuff IN the truck though.

I got tired of seeing all the unorganized junk so I built this (2) drawer bed box.

About 40+ cigarette butts. All frozen to the bed mat. Gotta clean them out today since I am going back on the Chantix tonight.

Thanks for this. I know nowadays some cars don't have ashtrays, but I hate seeing people throwing their butts out of the window. And with cigs being near $10 a pack, if you quit you could see that savings turn into mod money real quick. That should help motivate you.

Aside from that, I got some heavy duty zip ties and zipped two milk crates together, and bungee them to the d-rings to hold them against the tailgate. Pretty low tech, but it keeps stuff together and is very convenient when I've got four in the cab.

Usually nothing. Keep it clean unless I haul my Kayaks or hard luggage for travel.

Yep, in the truck I have a portable ash tray and when I'm outside I throw them in the bed- or my back pocket. NEVER on the ground or out the window.

I have to quit, there is a Bass Pro Shop opening next month that I will drive by twice a day. I'm fucked.

True story: an acquaintance of mine was riding his motorbike in a strip mall area. Between stop lights, car driver next to him throws a butt off the window.. which lands on the rider's tankbag!
Rider does not miss a beat, collect cig. butt, and at the next stop light, pulls up next to driver's window and says " s'cuse me.. it looks like you lost this, back there!", presenting him or her with the tossed butt.

OK, back to junk in Taco bed, and also homemade storage ideas!
