    Hi,
I have been looking at the bed of my truck contemplating a way to create a sleeping platform that is removable. I have noticed to indentations on each side of the bed that look like they could fit a properly sized board. I was thinking this could be a foundation for some sort of shelf.

Has anyone ever tried this or know what the purpose of those indentations are for?

    Thanks

FYI , there are a few more bed platform threads / posts kicking around if you do a deeper search
