Calm down folks that are STRONGLY going with just the "Bad Luck, Nothing is wrong with the quality of the glass"

I do believe everyone see things differently, and u can't expect everyone to think / believe in what you think it makes sense to you

I doubt it. You might just have rocks hit a little higher on the windshield is all. I drove an 04 Taco around for a while and the bug deflector didn't seem to do anything besides look like a pedophile mustache.

    #2nd gen problems.

i put two rocks into a new 2013 i think? he was following me, not that close.

However, here in az, rock chips/cracks are normal as is most people having glass coverage on insurance. i get a new winshield for $0 every 12 months as ive needed it every 12 months.

The windshield on my truck has been cracked 2 years. Took to Toyota for service, they didn't want to wash because of it. I don't let them wash it anyway .
Going on road trip from NO-CAL to Vegas, then Phoenix for spring training.. Let's Go OAKLAND !!!!

Had a dump truck lose a piece of gravel into my windshield the other morning. Small chip right in my line of vision. Got the phone # off the truck. I m hoping the owner man's up and pays for my chip to be repaired.

Wow! How can you make a truck with anti-lock brakes lock the brakes?

    ...seriously?

I had someone follow me and tell me they wanted me to pay for their windshield because they caught a rock from me. I told them to fuck off and get used to driving. It's a driving hazard.

Now unless this truck was holding a load of sizeable rocks, and you have a witness, good luck proving that any rock came off the truck.

    Some stuff...
I've got you beat, Bro - 3rd day I had my rig with less than 100 miles on the odometer, heading north to work on I-95 in the center lane with NO ONE in front of me. Fucking straight-truck with no mud-flaps in the right lane a hundred meters or so up shot a rock out at an angle that struck, and cracked my windshield smack-dab in the middle! :frusty:

Insurance company said to let it go - my policy is $50 for crack filling and $50 for windshield replacement. Their advise was to wait until it cracks and just replace the entire thing since it's the same deductible cost.

LMAO, I was driving a drop box truck ( garbage truck that sets debris boxes) and left the dump. Some a hole was following and honking, so I pulled over. He said I dropped rocks on his new POS gmc pickup. I told him I have mudflaps and nothing I could do. There was no rocks, truck was empty. He called the company, they told him to pound salt.

Agree with the posts that OEM w/s is either soft or brittle glass. On my last Taco, had like 15 chips all fixed, none ran. New to me Taco has a non OEM w/s and I got popped the other day, thought for sure my first chip, but no chip. Whew.....I hope I dont jinks myself with this post!

My truck has 3400 miles. I purchased in December 2013. I have 5 decent sized, easily noticable chips already from idiots on the highway throwing up rocks. Even my chrome grill has a solid chip in it dead center at the top of it.

My last vehicle it would be rare occasion whenever I'd have that happen. I've given up. The 4th and 5th ones came from a tractor trailer the other day that literally thru up an egg sized hunk of asphalt at an angle right into it. I was in a completely different lane from the truck. I was pissed.

I don't tailgate, I'm always mindful of vehicles prone to throwing up rocks too. Mostly the ones that get me are the assholes that are zipping across lanes stirring shit up and throwing it around. My brand new truck has a windshield in worse shape that the one that was about 3 years old on my last vehicle.
