Has anyone had trouble with their seats wearing out really quickly?

I have a 2013 DC TRD that has ~5000 miles on it. Since I've owned it, the driver's side seat fabric has loosened a lot. The seats already look worse than my girlfriend's 2007 Corolla that has 10x as many miles.

Originally I thought maybe I was sliding into the seat too much so I started being excessively careful when entering or exiting the truck. I even bought tube steps to make getting in easier. Then I realized this is a truck, its supposed to go off road and generally tolerate rough conditions. The truck has only been used in-town since I bought it and I worry how the interior will hold up once I take it out hunting, camping, etc.

The dealership looked at the seat and agreed to replace it. I also looked at the passenger side seat and its wearing quite a bit as well even though my ~110lb girlfriend has used it maybe a couple dozen times. I weigh about 180lbs so I don't think my size is being excessively rough on the seats either.

Yeah, the issue seems petty but its a $30k brand new truck and I guess I expect it to hold up better. :(

My 06 with 90k hasn't loosened up like yours. I weigh about 180 and slide into the seat. Sounds like they may have downgraded materials (cut costs):(

Same here. Mines a 13 with 6,000 miles and I weigh 200 pounds and exact same issue except mine has a crease on the side by the levers.. That shouldn't be the case with a brand new truck! It is a truck though and it's going to get abused.Just threw some wet okoles and call it a day.. You won't regret it.

I'm 6'1'" and 260 lbs. Install cheap seat covers A.S.A.P. It's not our size...It's some cheap fabric.

My bench seat started looking similar. 6'2" 230lbs. It has more to do with the way we get in a truck, up & in vs. just sitting down in a car. My Ford dump truck has an auto-eject seat, as soon as you open the door, you slide right out. :)

I put TRD covers on mine the first week I had it. Working on trains tends to get dirty.

My '10 has over 90k and no signs of wear on the seats. I weigh 180 pounds also, so it may be the way you slide/sit in or the way you sit while you're driving. Sorry to hear it's not holding up. I had a Ford Explorer that was that way once...

No issues with my 2011 yet. As others have said.....cheap seats & it has a lot to do with how you enter/exit the truck. Mine is pretty high so I don't slide into the seat. I have to pretty much stand up on the side step & lower myself into the seat. And just for kicks, I'm just under 250lbs.

No issues on my 2011 at 32K. Just put on a set of Wet Okole. I would imagine since Toyota stopped sale on the new vehicles, there might be a recall for the seats of the newer trucks.

The driver's seat on my '12 is worse at 32,000 miles than my old '05 was at 74,000 miles. Both with TRD, and I never changed the way I get in or out of the trucks. Guess they changed the fabric at some point.

My seat looks like that too! Glad it's not just me I guess. Sucks though.
