    Hey guys,

    Quick question...

I'm putting in a Toytec TSB AAL on my '14 DCLB (4 leafs [3+overload]) and the AAL is shorter than the overload leaf. I called Toytec and the woman said the AAL goes below the overload. Does this seam right? I don't think so. Should I put it above the overload even though it's shorter?

The AAL goes in-between the overload leaf, and the main leaf springs.

Thanks Chris. I thought so but it just seams odd that the AAL is shorter than the overload. And odder that the woman at Toytec told me to put it below the overload.

    I'll stick it in between.

Most all bottom springs are shorter than the overload leaf. the spring pack is designed to give a progressive ride when unloaded, or lightly loaded. When weight is applied, the springs sag onto the OL spring, and the OL spring begins to assist in carrying the load. If the AAL was installed on the bottom of the OL spring, it wouldn't add any lift to the spring pack.

It would add lift, it just would be the thickness of the aal :D

    LOL

Yeah, I was thinking that the overload would just laugh at that AAL.

    Thanks fellas!

If you didn't already buy the aal from toytec, I'd look into a 3 leaf progressive aal through icon or wheelers offroad. I have the wheelers 3 leaf and it rides like stock.

Weird... Pretty sure my Deaver AAL's were longer than my O/L leaves, by about an inch on each end.

    :notsure:
