Nfab or those electronic steps ops. If you get the electronic steps you can wire them into the back door so they come Down with just the back door open instead of when you are getting in. That way not in your way but just hers to assist in climbing in. Take a look in my pictures and you'll see standard steps. They are great in protecting from door dings but in my way on my 6in lift

My truck isn't lifted. I did do a lot of offroading in my teens and early twenties, but don't get any opportunity now. Not to say I won't in the future!! As far as parking lots I am not worried about me hitting someone with my door, but the other way around. I was thinking that perhaps the Tacoma being higher than most cars, that THEIR doors would perhaps bring up in my sidebars before my door. Am I right to assume that?

To all of you, thanks for the great suggestions. I will be checking them all out. Keep 'em coming!!

I just have some cheap westins, I know for a fact that they have saved my door from dings. I dont off road, and my wife likes them to help her step up into the truck. My 5 y.o. son also uses them to get in the truck. I bedlined mine for more traction. My boy slipped on the chrome part one day, also it makes them look better without that bling.

Don't assume the Tacoma being higher in Texas. There are so many pickups and big SUVs that the Tacoma door is still lower than most of them.

Everything in the above statement is a fallacy...aside from the bold part. Know of what you speak before typing

The above holds true for you as well

Another fallacious argument on your behalf, well played!

Toes are OK, but I'm more of a "leg man" myself. (Don't you just hate autospell?)
