I just recently purchased a 2014 TRD off road short bed in MGM. I love the truck thus far but want it to stand a bit higher. This vehicle is my daily driver, but also will be used to hunt/fish. I will put approx 200 miles/week on the truck. Wondering if i could get some advice on lift, i.e type and where to purchase. What about wheels? Thanks !

lifts can be an easy spacer all the way up to long-travel coilovers!

do what your budget wants. I spent about 700$ for shocks, coils, and add a leafs, guy left of me spent a couple hundred and got spacers/ blocks, guy right of me spent a couple thousand (I think) and got coilovers, ucas, and leafpacks. guy right of him spent a few thousand more and got all that plus lcas, glass fenders, custom work to rear frame for massive shocks and springs. . . .from left to right there may be a small difference in height between all us lifted-truck guys, but the guy on the right of any of us has a much better performing vehicle, not necessarily on-road though

After driving with spacers I hate them. They came on the truck when I got them so I didn't really have a choice. They make the ride stiff. stay away from the spacers.

check out there, it can really vary depending on what you want to do in the rear, ie AAL, blocks, or whole new leaf pack.

sounds like youre trying to keep it reasonable so just some coils, shocks and a AAL would work. theres always the 5100's using stock coils, but some people complain the ride is a bit rough.

take a look through this thread and it should give you everything you need

I set my 5100s at 1.75" up front and added a toytec 1/4" spacer to the top of the strut assemblies

Gave me 2.25" of lift up front and no UCA change required

Toytec 2" AAL on rear springs gave me a 1.5" lift in the rear because I have a Leer 100X shell. Tires are 265/70-17 Cooper. Shocks are 5100s

Rides good on and offroad and no issues with the front end alignment

    I'm still getting 18-19 mpg

Bought the Bilstein 5100s here: http://www.my4by.com

    Tacoma 2nd Gen. Front 5100 Adjustable. 24-186711 $97
    Rear 5100 24-186728 $70
