Mounted USB ports for power

I have an iPhone, and I charge it using this. I have a 2009 Double Cab TRD Sport, and I'm thinking about figuring out a way to integrate this thing into the dash somehow. I have two blanks right next to the Aux Port (I have the 6 disc JBL system).

How do you guys think I should go about doing this? Should I buy a single 12v receptacle and hardwire it behind the dash, plug this thing in and somehow mount it to the dash? Take this thing apart and directly hardwire it?

Is there another option to add a couple of USB ports specifically for power to the dash?

Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Wow, just posted yesterday and already down to the 3rd page.

I guess what I'm looking for is someone who might have wiring experience and may be able to give me some insight on what to do to get this thing hardwired in so I can mount it behind the dash.

Thanks in advance.

There was a recent 'how to' about installing a DC outlet in the cubby to the left of the steering wheel. I like that idea because I could charge my phone in there when driving. Couple that with a handsfree bluetooth device and I am set!

I got one of these for $30, and just plugged it into my cigarette lighter on the passenger side. It works surprisingly well, and doesn't vibrate/jiggle badly at all.

you could always do like pb2themax did http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd...one-mount.html

I'm not sure what you would actually be able to accomplish though to have something hanging off the dash.

Here is what I was thinking:

He installed this on the right side change tray. I think I may do this to keep my phone charger out of the way. The only thing that tray is good for is to hold my Altoids.
