I'm getting a bottle of Militec-1 tomorrow (i don't know the size yet) and I was told to add it to my engine. Since I have a brand new truck, I'm a little wary. I was told 2oz/quart--so about 12oz in the truck.

    Has anyone used this?

I have used Miltec for years to lube guns. I don't know how the stuff is rated for an engine, but it is really great with firearms

I would not add anything to the engine oil of a new truck as it is totally unnecessary. A good motor oil is all that is needed.

    Things I need to tow.
I'm not familiar with that product, but would recommend no friction reducing additive be used at least until the engine has accumulated some mileage and is "broken in". (I personally don't use additives, but everyone has their preferences.)

Sounds like Snake Oil to me. If it was as good as they say, Everyone would be using it.

    * 3% increase in fuel economy

    * showed impressive gains in peak horsepower

    * The City of Corona, California had eight vehicles that would not pass the annual smog inspection. After adding MILITEC-1 with no additional maintenance, all eight passed easily.

    * showed incredible reductions in maintenance and associated costs

I'm confused why anyone would add anything to the engine of their brand new truck that they know nothing about

Well, I haven't added it yet. It's been around for quite a while and given to the military at no charge to use for just about everything. I have a buddy who started using it in his vehicles and is a part of the NAVY and suggested I give it a go.

Same here...... it's one of the best firearm lubricants (synthetic). Its expensive stuff. If you Amazon it....it's $40 for 16oz.

    To the OP:
You have a bran new truck.... it DOES NOT need any additives.

Maybe is an East Coast thing? I don't know. I have a meeting about it here in a little while. I'll report back.

    free is always good...

you would be a fool to add something like a "dry lube" to your engine, a good synthetic oil is more then enough for your engine.
