Front End Rumble: Help!

All,
I have a 2006 4WD and have an odd rumble from the front I'm having a hard time diagnosing.

Symptom: I get a rumble when I'm driving straight or making left turns, right hand turns make the sound go away. 2WD or 4WD sounds the same. Rumble also goes away or subsides when the suspension is compressed.

Repairs: At first, I thought it was a wheel bearing so I have replaced the drivers side front wheel bearing. Noise persisted so I did the ECG needle bearing replacement and now have their bushing in the front diff, still have the noise. My final thought is to replace the drivers side half shaft.

Any thoughts? Am I on the right track?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Cheers, James

I have the exact same issue, only mine goes away during left turns, and will even go away with just slight pressure to the left on the wheel. I took for granted it was a bearing also and was getting ready to replace it.

No, same noise in 4WD or 2WD. I have replaced the needle bearing.

Adriancast, thanks for the info. I haven't done anything to my front bumper but I'll have a look in there this weekend.

Thanks

Front End Rumble: Help!

Update: I was replacing my front rotors and pads today and my left wheel bearing definitely sounds dry. It doesn't have any play but I'll replace it and report back. At least front bearings are easy to replace on these trucks! It has 110k on it in our salty wet New England winters.

I checked a my front bumper and the fasteners I could access seemed ok.
