Just curious why do some of the grills I see on google when I search for the customcargrills have an offset from the front of the truck and the ones I'm seeing posted on here look like the grill sits toward the front of the grill? Am I seeing a different brand or older model tacomas? I have a 13 so I'm trying to decide what to get. Thanks for the input.

I noticed the same thing. I think it's just an optical illusion depending on the angle of the shot.

^^I think that's either a pre 2012 or a custom job. Not a regular Grillcraft or CCG.

The 05-11 grills from customcargrills are recessed, like a satoshi. The 12+ grills are basically grillcraft I believe

^^Right idea, except 05-11 are like the homertaco satoshi grills. 2012+ is custom car grills or grillcraft. Custom car grills are custom meshes and installed differently.

Edit: That is, until homertaco starts selling the 2012+ satoshi grills. :stirthepot:

That's what I'm waiting on(I like the deeper recess), but I think I'm gonna get me a CCG and when the HomerTaco becomes available I'll just sale the CCG grill since I have three.

If your looking for the deep look (satoshi grill), then yes. The 05-11 grills have certain areas of the grill that need filled in after you cut the guts out. Or you can buy one that is made by someone like HomerTaco.

Here is one of the write ups on the satoshi grill.
