I'm planning on getting a supercharger on a new 2014 Tacoma. I'm curious though, is it enough of an increase in power on it's own or is it advisable to do any other tinkering at the same time of the S/C install? Specifically, I'm wondering about a different pulley, injectors, maybe headers? I've seen the back threads where all of these things have been done, but I'm curious to know from the guys that have been down this road if they saw much improvement from the add-on mods over and above the S/C, or maybe the S/C is plenty by itself? Not looking for a pure hot rod, BTW, just bang for the buck. Thanks.

Do you care about voiding the warranty? If not go for it.

Didn't know it did void the warranty. Certainly something worth considering:) I haven't yet spoke with the dealer in detail....still collecting thoughts/ideas.

Go with the TRD supercharger and have it installed by the dealer.
Not cheap, but it maintains your full factory powertrain warranty.

Install an aftermarket SC and you'll lose your engine/powertrain warranty.

Yeah, I should have mentioned that I was planning on a TRD. I am concerned about the warranty and hope to work it in as a package deal as well. They sound like very solid units. It appears that gas mileage doesn't suffer either, plus or minus right foot-action.

    Lots baby!
You could do headers & an intake. But unless you can find a way to tune the adders, you may not find the engine's true potential. URD has an aftermarket ecu, but I do not think it will work with a 2014.

I have a 2008, with the usual add ons, pulleys, CAI, headers APR-X1. I have dynoed a tad over 350 HP.

I have had my TRD s/c for a while now on my 2012, and by itself to me its enough. I'm thinking of a URD intake, maybe even headers but thats it. It's sweet, and don't worry about injectors as the TRD kit comes with upgraded injectors already. The kit also comes with a TRD drop in filter replacement for the intake if that helps.
