I traded in my WRX and got this awesome 2013 TRD Off-Road Double Cab manual transmission in Magnetic Gray Metallic with 11,000 on the odo. As near as I can tell with the snow and ice caked on the truck is immaculate, the interior is spotless and big bonus- it came with WeatherTech floor mats installed. Unless the dealer just cleaned it really well, I'm not sure it has ever left the pavement. The suspension components in the front and rear don't have a single spec of dust or dirt anywhere (besides the snow).

I live about four hours away from the dealer that was selling it and I was amazed he offered to drive and meet me halfway to deliver the truck and pickup my trade. Did the deal completely over the phone and he drove over the mountains in the middle of the biggest snow storm I have seen in Oregon in my life to do the swap.

He did not know anything about the lift that had been done to the truck so I stopped at a 4WD truck shop on my way home and the guy told me that it had a Bilstien leveling strut kit installed in the front providing about 2.5" lift and that the rear was stock. Does this sound right based on the height of the truck in the photos?

It has OEM black 16" TRD wheels and 265 75R16 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires.

The only thing I don't like is they added some damn pin striping between when they took the photos for the website and when I got it so I had no idea it was there. I'm going to get that removed ASAP... This is the second vehicle I have bought from Kendall Auto Group in Oregon and I highly recommend them. It has been a painless process both times and i felt I got fair deals on both vehicles. Just tell them to keep the pinstriping guys grubby hands off your ride.

I drove it home and promptly took it up on a dirt road that had about 18" of snow on it. Pulled out on a point and went to turn around in unbroken snow and almost got stuck on a slight incline. I had it in 4L and could not get it to do anything except crap sideways towards a steep drop off (150'). I thought I was going to be stuck in the middle of nowhere but I decided to put it in 4H and it pulled right up the incline with a bit of drifting. Not sure why it did better in 4h than 4L???

Anyway, here are the pics. First one I took on the way home, rest are from the dealer.

Truck looks great. You already got a head start in mods. The billsteins, TRD wheels and duratracs aren't cheap. How much were they asking if you don't mind me asking?

They were asking 32k, I ended up paying about 30.5K. Fair price? Its at the lower end of the KBB value so I was happy enough with it.

Yeah I'd say that's a pretty good price with all those mods as well. Plus it's an off road. nice score I think.

That thing is sweet! Wish I'd bought that exact set up in a '13 instead of a '14.

Score!!! nice truck. Not only did you get an MGM offroad with 6spd, but you got it with wheels, tires and a decent lift. Good job

About your situation in 4h vs. 4l...was the green 4wd indicator flashing at you and beeping when you moved the switch to 4L? If so, you weren't really in 4l. Just remember to stop the truck, shift to neutral then move the switch to 4l, then shift back to drive. Just making sure since this was your first drive with the tacoma and I remember my first time... Beeps and flashes everywhere! Lol

Very nice :) As much as I like them, this beats a WRX hands-down.

^ this. I think you got a good deal considering the mods it had already and the low mileage. Welcome to TW!
