I plan on test driving some new trucks this year and happy there are some new entries in the mid-size truck market. Competition = we all win.

Yup, the typical chick driver and non off roader will test drive all the mid size trucks and toyota WILL lose market share.
    Step your game up holmes!

Why use a shoddy/non verified source when the OEM websites and Press Release materials have tons of information already?

I don't see anyone saying that. My initial comment is really at how similar the new Caynorado looks to the Tacoma.

I think we should all welcome the diesel as it may encourage Toyota to supply one now.

    Completion is good for us.

Toyota doesn't have a single Diesel in their fleet here in US/Canada. In Canada, Diesel is about $1 less per gallon than unleaded gasoline.

The Chevy/GMC have my attention now, unless Toyota wakes up and updates the Tacoma with a Diesel and more creature comforts. For me, it's a lifestyle truck and not a work truck. I will use it to transport my motorcycles out of the snow belt and to places I can ride during the winter.

I saw them up close, were not so impressed. I traded in my 2011 Silverado on a Tacoma due to the sheer poor quality of my Silverado.

    1. Seat material would stain if you looked at it wrong
    2. Buttons were rubbing off
    3. Rattles
    4. 2 recalls with in the first 2 months of owning it
    5. Had to have the intake manifold replaced under my power train due to a crack
    6. First set of tires (from factory) made it 28K miles. I had them rotated every 5-7500 miles

I am happy to have my Tacoma, it feels more like a truck where GM is making their trucks feel more like cars.

i love my tacoma..but i think some of those same complaints have been said about our trucks..i find my seats are easy to stain as well..hell..i am 90% sure my last three stains were from water...water! and our OEM tires..legendary complaints :)

It's confirmed that they will offer a Duramax Diesel 2.8 liter / 4 cylinder engine in its second year on the market, as a 2016 model.

I'm tired of the tundra getting there good stuff! Why can't the Tacoma actually get some stuff to trickle down to make it a better truck? Look at the hilux it gets leather and a diesel! For Toyota to say there is no market and the emissions argument is just stupid. If Mazda can make a diesel to be US compliant without the aftertreatment then Toyota can too.

Now that the Chevy has been updated, and there hasn't been much of an update to the Tacoma since 2005, what would you like to see Toyota do to update the Tacoma?
You can now get heated seats, so the extras I would like to see them add are heated mirrors, the ImMrYota rear view mirror mod, LED interior lighting, lit mirror and 4WD controls. More sound insulation and a better interior fan too.:)
