    Folks,

Just received a cold call from an outfit called EFG supposedly a subsidiary of Nationwide Insurance (Toyota Sanctioned)-for extended warrantee coverage on my 2012 Tacoma… They had the bio on my truck that was pretty accurate down to the approx: mileage… I went through a series of questions and transferred multiple times to talk to "specific specialist"… Long story short I listened to what they all had to say because I had a little time to see what and how they selling-The LEO part of me was inquisitive… They used the high pressure tactic during the entire conversation and I entertained it up until the point they asked for payment info… Area code was a (518)-Northern NY…Any of you folks ever hear of these cats?

Id be careful about "local" numbers. There are people internationally who disguise their numbers as local numbers only to have your phone bill rung up.

My quick google search does not come up with anything that would indicate a legitimate operation. Your VIN number which probably isn't so secure would contain most of your information and your approx mileage guessed? Or your dealership was hacked

Folks- here is the thing… They also listed 6 of the dealerships that are in my area and tried using it as a verification to give me a "feel good"… When I told the guy "okay" which dealer? They stated that-that was part of my verification and could not state which dealer I bought or where I get it serviced… Although they did know that I was up for my 30,000 mile servicing… Once again I entertained the call because it didn't cost me anything and also just wanted to pass the word because these guys were pretty good… I will be dropping by the dealer tomorrow to look into it a little further… Just passing info to you good folks…

Get a hand held boat horn. Walmart sells them for about $8.

When they call, ask them never to call again. If they call again, blast the boat horn in their ears. They will stop calling.
