Is it possible to swap a K&N intake tube with a TRD intake tube? The dealer say's I cant, because it's just a replacement part and I have to buy the whole intake system for almost $400, but the tube alone is only $40! If I am able to switch, eventually I could buy the replacement TRD intake box, which is also cheap. What are your thoughts?

Currently I am running a stainless steel K&N intake with a heat shield, an AFE pro dry S filter, and an AFE TBS.

    Thanks.

I think ur best to save up for the afe stage 2 si.

    The new trd is flawed.

The k&n is poor filtering and can be a pita for the maf sensor.

Just curious, why are u wanting to replace the tube?

The K&N is not street legal, but the TRD is here in Ca. So by doing what I'm planning, I would pass the visual when I eventually smog.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
$400 off a supercharger makes more sense to me.

Lost it in a move, that's why I'm want to try this conversion but not sure if it would work.

Just keep an eye open in the buy/sell/trade section here.... They come up for sale.

Or join xru where people are much more into performance.. I bet their buy/sell/trade area comes up with more stock parts than we do.

Then again, I bet u can borrow a locals.
