I have been looking and can't find a thread. Is there already a thread that shows how to install Nerf Bars?

...when does a stepper become a nerf bar, or is it the other way around

I am saying that 'cause I need something more like a comfy stepper, rather than a super-duper fancy nerf bar, I think. i read 3", 4" bars. What should I consider?
