Ya not bad, price as tested for the Ram was $56k!! Holy balls. I like the idea of a diesel in a 1/2 ton pickup.

    Thanks,

    Brett

Call me a fan boy, but taco was lowest priced, best weigh:power, best 0-60, (and 60-0 i think might have missed that one) best 1/4, and 2 nd best mpg. Thats a lot of medals for those of you keeping count.

Seems the Ram was the clear winner from those tested. DAT MPG

Seems the Taco isn't that dated.

If you don't mind 500 lbs payload. Just buy a car if your main concern is MPG.

It came at the bottom of 2/3 tests, costs $56,000 and has a crazy low capacity.

Doesn't seem that great to me.

ANd you got to love the V-8 tow package on the Taco.....

I really like how they pick a full loaded all the bells Dodge Diesel and put it up to a Taco 2WD standard truck..... And some of the others are about the same.........

The payload of the ram 1500 ecodiesel ranges from 1,300 lbs to 2,600 lbs depending on how you configure the cab and box size. 500 lbs payload is obviously a reporting error.

It really just goes to show that the Tacoma may be dated but it is still a truck that can work. Why fix something that ain't broke?

Just read the article and was very impressed with the Tacoma. I was surprised it beat the Chevy's in acceleration and fuel economy, I thought the new 4.3 was a pretty good engine.

I knew the Ram would be slow but that sucks.

Yeah u have to step uo to chevys 6.2 to compete with the taco at the strip. I read today where a member had a 14 z71 6.2 that ran a 14.9 and 0-60 in the high 6's i think

I wasn't talking cost, only performance figures (and to note, a diesel is not generally going to be in the top of an acceleration contest). Don't take everything you read as gospel. That truck has a higher payload than 500#.
