What I was trying to say is that in our mid sized category, the difference between the 5ft bed and the 6ft bed is almost negligible.

If customer X needed to haul a bunch heavy tools and such (i.e. Welder, mobile mechanic, ect.) he would be better suited in a Fullsize truck.

I wasn't bashing on DCLB or AC tacomas, But a previous post bashed 5ft bed saying that they were useless, I was trying to explain that there were still uses for a DCSB vehicle.

Now there are certain circumstances where individuals who purchased a DCLB have used their pay load capabilities to it maximum potential, and have been able to haul as much stuff as a full size vehicle. Congrats! I applaud you

 

One difference is sleeping in the bed , unless you're a Hobbit

 

My wife is 5 ft tall and weighs 98 lbs. I just haul her around in the DCSB. If I married anyone taller I would have bought the DCLB.

My last Tacoma was an AC. Wouldn't go back now that I have DC.

 

I went from my '90 extended cab (6' bed) to an '01 DCSB (was only available as a short bed). Test drove the very first DC the dealer received. I took my mountain bike along and verified that it would fit with the tailgate closed before I decided for sure.
That did fine for 13 years, but last month when I went shopping for new, I decided to go for the extra length of the long bed.
Definitely tighter getting into parking spaces (May also be due to the extra width). I think it will be worth it when hauling camping gear.

 

The thirst has returned.

Trade it in, and get the DC : )
