Looking to add stepper bars due to bad back in family, I wonder about the 3" versus the 4" design.
The 4" would seem more favorable for the "step" part...

Did anybody put 4" nerf bars and regret having put them on?

I have 5" ovals... I was afraid of the size at first, but they look great on the truck. Since they are so wide, you can actually utilize them unlike the stock bars.

Any recommendations on size / style if my truck goes off-road a good bit? Just want to be cognizant of clearance. Thanks so much!

    Starting over.......
I went for the OEM Toyota black powder coated aluminum ones. They fit really well, don't extend down too far. My 3 and 8 year old use them every day. I shopped aftermarket ones but the Toyota were not that much more expensive and they work and look great. Any steel ones will probably be a rusty mess after a couple of seasons if there is salt used on the roads in your area.

Bought the type recommended by RCKT above, but vendor had problems shipping, so I am back looking at them steppers.

pm'ed panicfan asking about Raptor details.

Anybody else wants to chime in?
Focus is getting a good step in the truck, not so much glam or protection...!

I had 3" Nfabs/predators. Hated them. Sucked for offroad. I banged my shins more than anything. I took them off and am running nothing now. If you do any offroading, get sliders. You can use them as steps aswell.

I put on my truck the Steelcraft 4” Premium Oval Nerf Bars. I got them autoanything.com they have them on sale. Instructions were really good and took about 1.2 and hour to install by my self.

That's a bummer... I had mine in about 3 days. Sorry about your luck, I'm positive you would have liked them.

RCKT82, I'm thinking about getting the 5" ovals too. Can you take a measurement for me? From the lip under the cab to the outside edge of your tube is what I'm interested in. For example, in my pic here it is 6" from lip to outside edge. Thanks!

If you're wheeling a good amount, I'd go with sliders instead.

I got the exact same ones, but mine are stainless. Wanted black, but figured they'd start chipping from road debris. They're good an sturdy. They take my 240lb ass like a champ!

I got the steel craft 3" black bars. I find it easier to just get in without them. They look good though.
