OEM is just as good if not better than any aftermarket filter. There are plenty of threads on this and a lot of research done on this very subject. Just search youtube and you will find out that the stock filter is just fine.

    U have a v6 op......

Ur restriction is in the intake design itself.

U may see a hp increase with a new intake, but not an air filter.

The stock intake is built with chambers/baffles/silencers to reroute the air and quiet down the noise. Someone has taken their stock v6 truck and put it on a dyno with the oem filter and did a run..... Then took out the air filter and did another dyno run.......he finally removed the last charcoal/evap/emissions trap screen Thats been referred to as a filter by some.... He then ran the truck on the dyno again with zero filters and the outcome was simple......

No hp gain seen that wasn't within typical dyno variance.

An aftermarket intake was installed on his truck...... Then run on the dyno........ Gains were made this time.

Bottom line..... If u are worried about filtration, use the oem and u will get probably the best filtering out there with zero loss of hp.
If u want SOME gains, run a aftermarket intake. Just dont expect 30hp from it.

Also keep in mind u cannot (so far) have maximum flow and maximum filtering in a single filter. U have to sacrifice 1 for the other. Its been proven many times on different websites.

U can find plenty of add on toys at urdusa.com tho :)

Best bang for ur buck will always be forced induction, but u can increase both hp and tq with other bolt ons... It just gets tricky with opening up the exhaust too much while n/a. The tq curve can be changed a lot and make the truck feel gutless at lower rpm where u should have plenty of tq to pull/tow/haul/accelerate.

    Just use an OEM filter.

Nope..... Depends on what you're looking to get out of it.

I personally have a 'washable' one - only so I don't have to buy filters ever again.
