I have a 2013 AC SR5 4x4 purchased in May of 2013. I have 5,200 miles on it now. I am starting to see some quirky things with the electrical system, like this new touch screen radio jumping out of FM to another mode, this has happened a half dozen times. Today I came home from the store, my truck was parked for four hours when I heard a noise start up. I believe it was the fuel pump in the tank.(It's the only thing back there with a motor) It had come on out of the blue. I got in the truck put my key in the ignition turned one click and then back and the fuel pump stopped.Anyone else seeing strange electrical things.

Yes. Mine is a 2009. The whole dash board, radio, A/C controls were haunted. As for the stereo, make sure that you aren't touching the steering wheel controls by accident and then make a complaint with your dealer. The radio wont get better with age. Mine would change from FM to AM. It would change the volume, turn itself both on and off and change stations. It took seven attempts for the dealer to make it work correctly for more than a few weeks at a time before it worked correctly. (long story) Start to document the issue. Protect yourself for the future.

All 2013 tacoma's make that electrical noise when parked, some pump that I can't remember goes on so many hours after parked.

I stopped in to the dealer and the service manager said that he thought he has heard something about this. would look into it and call me back. We will wait for his call

the fuel pump thing is normal. there are a few threads ive seen recently where people mention this. its like a recirc or priming or something.. but it happens periodically for 5-10 minutes every few hours while parked.

Transplant, looks like you nailed it. Just got off the phone with the service manager. It is perfectly normal, has to do with the evap system, when fuel fumes build up in the tank the pump comes on to recirculate.
Many thanks to everyone, (I love this forum) Gov.
