I guess if you don't know how to use a heat gun to dry paint then yeah you probably shouldn't use it. But a heat gun from 12" away using a sweeping motion is not going ruin the plasti dip

I've got the white on my grill. Looks perfect from a few feet away, once you get right up on it you can tell it's a slightly different color, but pretty dang close. Fully intended to get a white grill, but the stuff has held up so well i've just left it. Also put some glossifier on top, seems to help the cleaning.

Haha! If someone is using gas to clean their PD, they should defiantly shouldn't be using a heat gun. Yes! There was a guy(on a dip forum) that ended up using gas to clean his dip because he was in a rush and he was lazy. He couldn't figure out why the dip got ruined.

Well nothing is ever perfect when it comes to shades. There could be a way to make it lighter if you wanted. I wouldn't think that if the dealers paint pens can make it the right shade then I wouldn't expect any other companies to get it right. Apparently Dupli-color does with their paint pens.

Just use a clear Coat after the Pasti Dip, I dipped my Rear bumper and Grille and looks great and dirt just wipes off.

I used it on my emblems last year. I did notice a bit of a difference. I only used it the one time though. It may or may not make the dip easier to clean.

Make sure that you use actual PD clear. Do not use aftermarket(other brands) of clear(video on page 1 of this thread to why). If you do, have fun getting the PD off in a sheet, it will come off in little pieces.

Would you happen to have any pictures? Does anyone on here have any pictures of them going from chrome to white with plastidip (or any other type of paint)? I'm just curious how different the plastidip white will look from the stock white of the tacoma

Also with doing white you're probably going to have to add a base coat. Gunmetal Grey for an example if you're going to do white.

What the lower valance looks like stock before dipping.

We are talking about Plasti Dipping, not painting. Plasti Dipping is not the same as painting.
