Hey everybody. Just need some info on the "Taco Lean" like what is it and what causes it. Also, if i install 5100's set at .85 or 1.75 in the front and have a pair in the rear, will that cause the lean?
    Thanks

Like posted there are several threads about it.
Simple answer really, everything heavy is on the left side (battery, driver and gas tank)
I would not advice to run the struts at different settings...just add a small spacer on the driver side...I've seen like a 1/4 in. Spacer people install to correct the lean

Oh no I meant running both front struts at .85 or running them both at 1.75 what would cause the lean. Does it only happen to lifted trucks or is it a common issue among Tacos everywhere? Thanks!

Oh ok. My bad I feel like shit and am sick :anonymous:
Well the lean is caused by the weight of the battery and fuel tank plus the driver

I have mine set at 1.75" and no lean. My understanding is when you change out the coils is when you would want to pick up the 1/4" spacer for the driver side.

Yeah thats what I am thinking too. Do you have any Vibes in your gas pedal or steering wheel? I just took off a set of 2.25 Pro Comp top plate spacers because the vibes were terrible even after a front end alignment and a wheel balance. So Im debating on going with the 5100's set at .85 or 1.75. I just dont want to buy them and get my springs switched over to them and then be back in the same crap I was with with the spacers. :oldglory: Cheers guys!

Really? I installed the 2 1/4" Pro Comp kit on mine and love it. Also put a 1"spacer in back. Usually drive 80 mph on highway and have no vibrations at all. I do need to get a 1/4" spacer though for drivers side because its still lower (3/4") then the pass side.

Did you by any chance do the diff drop with it? It was beyond frustrating. i loved the look of my Taco with them on but I hated the vibes and i could not for the life of me figure it out. Even the shop that aligned it tried to help and still couldnt get it. But the weird part was that unlike everyone else, my noise was coming from the passenger side front wheel. The last thing I could think of was if something in the brake caliper or rotor were rubbing. You definitely felt the vibes when braking.

Billies all around, 885's up front, 1.5" AAL in the rear ,Pro Comp 7032's wrapped in BFG AT 265/75/16, Locking rear cargo bins, interior LED's, Volant CAI with ram skewp, 5% back windows 20% tint up front, ImMrYo rear-view mirror mount, flowmaster 40 cut after axle drop, 886 reverse light mod, blacked out emblems, Grill Craft MX mesh upper and lower, UltraGauge, 10" JL sub behind drivers side rear seat
Don't know what to tell you about the vibes, could be a number of things. The taco lean usually comes from after market coils. I ran my billies at 1.75" with stock coils for awhile with no problems or taco lean and now have 885's with the 1/4" spacer for drivers side to prevent any lean. My understanding is the stock coil on drivers side is adjusted to account for the extra weight, hence no taco lean with stock coils. With my 885's and 1/4" spacer on drivers side I am even left and right.

    Hope that helps!

Yeah thats the difference. The vibes from that seem to be only in the 4x4's.

About the vibrations.... I saw this in another thread, "don't bother with the diff drop. just go to eastcoastgearsupply.com and order the front diff bushing to replace your diff needle bearing and you'll be great. I'm running OME 885's but no top plate spacers other than 1/4" on driver side to correct the lean. The diff drop does not do much diff dropping to amount to anything. The diff bushing is to correct your vibrations which you will have after that much lift."

No vibes at all with the billies. If you're just trying to level the truck they will do the job.
