I just got my new 14' trd sport and took off my antenna since I don't listen to regular radio and it kept hitting my garage ceiling when I pull in and out....

Do I need to cap where the antenna screws in? Will it ruin the adapter?

Never done this before and would like some advice

    Thanks,

This truck is badass!!! My first truck!

Are you not going to replace it with a smaller antenna? I haven't personally taken mine off. I would make sure that everything is sealed off because you don't want water or anything goes in there. There could be electronics, wiring etc.

I took mine off for about 6 months, Plan to do it again but will carry it in and get a cap had bolt to fit in there to plug it. Don't want to clean it out like I did last time of all the grit.
    Keep it in the truck.
I found myself sticking mine back in on a trip, Traffic went to hell and some big shooting happened to screw up the world and I needed to get local radio to find a evac route that was not shut down. It was easy to run out and turn it in fast sitting in traffic.
You may never need it but the one time you will, you would wish you can if you did not have it with you.

I just took mine off last week. I just found a screw of the same size to put in there.
