I said take out the abs fuse

 

The off-road has a button to turn off the roll sensing airbags.....Might take some work but there must be a way to disable it with a button or by making changes to the computer.

Maybe you could put an inline switch right next to where you stash your crack pipe.

No idea. Mine is the only one I've spent any time in.

 

So remove the fuse, insert a pair of male quick-connect lugs crimped onto wire of sufficient gauge to carry the current required by the airbag fuse.
On one wire, install a female quick-connect and install onto the fuse.
On the other wire, run it into the cab to a switch (again, of sufficient rating to handle 20% more than the fuse current), and back to the fuse.

Instant fuse bypass.

But I don't think that will disable the "engine-off"... just the airbags.
It may not disable the seatbelt tensioners.

 

Those are easy. Just don't wear the seat belt when ramming something.

 

no they dont. rolled a 2011 sport with rsca off and they didnt pop. none of them did and i hit a tree with the front quarter at 30-35.

engine did shut off though. not sure if it was on impact or on
its side

 

Hope your insurance is up to date. You might also want to advise your friends that you have disabled the air bags.

Seriously what kind of 'person' thinks to hit something so hard it may pop the airbag off, but won't damage the frame?

 

Crumple zones. I'll just leave that here. Do what you want with it.

 

Remove the SRS ECU, which is located in front of your shifter on the floor. Follow the yellow wires. The seatbelts also have an electronic lock on them if the airbags deploy. This will not work anymore. Get 5 point harness and a roll cage.

 

I use a company truck as a snow plow and we hit some snow banks with a lot of force. we pulled the fuse on the truck so the air bags don't go off and its worked just fine. simple fix to a real problem.

 

Plowing snow as opposed to ramming something with your bull bar is apples and oranges.
