Definitely needs to be taken care of like the others are saying or it'll end up like this. This is mine after about 6 months of noticing a spot like your but never had a real chance to fix it yet. It's on my to do list this spring. egy3e2y4_e03701196ed8189c49dfdb264017ab0e35f1af93.jpg

I have the same thing on my passenger door as you do in your third pic. I think that one was just a piece of gravel that took a chunk out of the paint and exposed the metal. I touched up mine up during last summer and it hasn't come off since I did it. Some people take a pencil and put sandpaper on the eraser side and spin it to sand it down to fresh metal and then do that touch up but I think that's overkill.

The fourth one almost looks like a rust bloom. A piece of metal contaminate gets stuck to the paint and rusts and then it does that. See if it just rubs off with your finger and some wax maybe? If it is a rust bloom 99% will come off and a small speck will remain which you need to clay bar off.

It would probably piss me off too if I had that kind of thing going on with my brand new truck but at least it will hopefully be a somewhat easy fix.

Giving you roof a really good wax once or twice a year should protect it from peeling. Especially if your in a hot climate. Cars in Mexico have that shit all over even brand new cars have it. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure holds true for stuff like this.

Those small rust spots are from rock chips. Rocks flying off the tire and hitting the pillars.

Yeah! I am just not sure how to prevent it from happening. I do rust checks with a paint pen 2-3 times a year. Since that our winters in Alberta are so long, it's hard to get out and check when it's as cold as it's been for awhile. I never took my mud flaps off and I thought that was the whole point of them? I guess it could have been worse if they weren't there.

Line X the roof, planning on doing it to mine soon. Gonna have them do it in white so it wont be as diiferent as the rest of vehicle, I also have a roof rack up there so hard to notice anything on roof.

I've had chips hit my windshield really fucking hard on the highway with a large following distance too.

I was just gonna say wrapping would probably be the best bet.
