Was doing some research and it looks like a lot of people on here really enjoy the redline, but from any scientific data I've been able to find the AMSOIL seems far superior in a lot of ways.

Anyone know why? Is it just a brand loyalty thing?

    My source: http://www.scribd.com/doc/337564/Study-of-Automotive-Gear-Oils-from-wwwoilshoppercom

I'm asking because I am about to go out and buy enough oil to do both my diffs, xfer case, and MT.

    Thanks for your help!

I think the oil debate is way over rated. That being said I have always used Mobile 1 in everything from engine to diffs and never really see anything on the magnets so I guess its doing it job JMO. :notsure:

Yeah Mobile 1 was the #2 oil in that test, if you see near the bottom.

The debate doesn't seem over rated. It seems like pretty big differences between even the middle of the road oils and the top (AMSOIL)

I am a fan of amsoil. I have also used redline mt90 in the MT

Ya the redline performed surprisingly poorly in a lot of the tests. Turns out Amsoil or Mobile 1 is the way to go.
